Habitat 23
Soundinstallation
Together Andreas Zißler and Fabian Lanzmaier design a walk-in sound installation on a peninsula in the river Mur south of St.Martin. With the help of so-called parabolic reflectors, sounds from the nearby gravel plant are recorded and then played into the landscape of the peninsula using parabolic loudspeakers. The topography of the landscape and the movements of the listeners shape the sound and become part of the composition. The audio installation takes up the motif of landscapes shaped by humans and transforms the peninsula into a biotope in which differences between natural and built environment, machines and living beings, technology and nature are completely dissolved.
