Time sculpture in the alpine region

Anna Lerchbaumer and Andreas Zißler devote themselves humorously as well as critically to our technological developments. In the time-sculptural work, the sward of an alpine meadow is blown up as a supposed natural landscape. It is a controlled explosion that simulates smoke and flames from burning pollen and is actually not an explosion at all, but rather an image of one. A potential ski meadow as an instrument, the soundtrack of our time is played.

ARTISTS:  Anna Lerchbaumer and Andreas Zißler (AT)

Anna Lerchbaumer takes a humorous as well as critical look at our technological developments. She creates sound performances and expansive installations in which sculptural aspects play an important role.
She makes the poetic audible and visible in the everyday and the inconspicuous.

Andreas Zißler is an interdisciplinary artist working and living in Vienna, Austria. In his sonic works, the process and the act of making are always in the foreground, his performances are spatial explorations, by interweaving the sound of self-made electronic circuits, readymade objects and everyday soundscapes, he creates fragile acoustic formations that can simultaneously withstand and collapse. As part of the synthesiser band experiment “The Sad Tropical Orchestra”, he explores new collective forms of music production and overh.ht and deconstructs male role models in the contemporary electronic music scene.
