Supergau is more than just a festival. Supergau is a spatial experiment, a platform for contemporary thought and action, a workshop and a temporary new landscape. Every two years, Supergau makes a stopover at the Traklhaus and provides a glimpse behind the scenes and into the countryside. Supergau invites artists to rural regions and explores the potential of artistic production in the districts of Salzburg.

Opening with the 8th sacrifice
Following the Stifler trilogy for Supergau 2023 in Lungau, the artist collective
EXPERIMENTAL SETUP follows on from its cycle on nature, myth and
humanity with the installation and performance Orakel and the 8th Sacrifice.

The oracle of the meadow – grasses, herbs and flowers – will be activated as a participatory
installation and invites you to question the language site.
Wed 18.9. 19:00 Habitat 24 (miniatures) – sound performance
Inspired by the audio installation Habitat 23 in Lungau, four miniatures will be
miniatures in the form of a cross-space sound performance with the artists
artists Andreas Zißler and Fabian Lanzmeier.

Superbar Stop – Stopover at Trakl’s
27.9.–15.10. / Tuesday–Saturday / 4–8 p.m.
What spaces does art need? Who are we actually doing all this for and who is watching us? In which places does the creativity arise that turns thoughts into deeds and how much time do we allow for improvisation and spontaneity?
The period during which the bar is open is divided into three workshops. The first week stands for the journey from Flachgau to Lungau – what do you take with you, what do you leave behind? In the second week, students from the Camping Campus invite you to think about places of learning and methods of questioning. The third week is dedicated to improvisation and is organised in cooperation with the Jazz&TheCity Festival. The spaces are deliberately kept open for spontaneous actions, lots of exchange, invite you to sleep over with a sleeping bag during the Long Night of Museums and also offer the opportunity to build your own super stool.
The artists Miriam Hamann, Bernhard Müller, Studio Fjeld, Anna Stadler and Lukas Gwechenberger, Fabian Schober and David Maier, Clemens Bauder+Construct Lab, Felix Ganzer and guests will provide plenty to talk about with their work. Talking brings people together: for three weeks in late summer, we invite you to the Superbar in the Traklhaus – occasionally with a programme:
